 Chris Anderson was appointed the conductor of the Flint Symphonic Wind Ensemble in 2019. Chris has been a music educator for over 14 years in various private and public schools across the state of Michigan. His students have earned superior ratings at Michigan School Band & Orchestra Association festivals, qualified for the Michigan Competing Bands Association state finals, and have been nominated for the Michigan Youth Arts Festival.
 Chris earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Central Michigan University where he studied saxophone with Prof. John Nichol and conducting with Prof. John Williamson & Dr. James Batcheller. He was also a member of the Chippewa Marching Band, Wind Symphony, and Jazz Lab I. He earned his Master of Music Education degree from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago, Illinois, where he studied conducting with Dr. Charles Menghini and Prof. Stacy Larson-Dolan.
 In addition to his work as a music educator, Chris is also an accomplished music arranger with several arrangements for clarinet and saxophone ensembles published by Watchdog Music. His arrangements have been performed across the world by various saxophone ensembles, including the University of Hartford, the University of Massachusetts, and the Crane School of Music. His arrangements have also been performed at the North American Saxophone Alliance and Singapore Saxophone Symposium conferences.
 Chris has been a music educator since 2007 and is currently the music teacher at Sherwood Elementary in Saginaw, Michigan, where he teaches general music for students grades K-2.
 In his free time, Chris enjoys running, bicycling, and spending time with family. Chris currently lives in Flushing with his wife Beth, also a music educator, and their two daughters.

Zachary Osborn
Assistant Conductor of the Flint Symphonic Wind Ensemble

 Zachary Osborn was appointed Assistant Conductor of the Flint Symphonic Wind Ensemble in 2022. Zach has been teaching private music lessons, working with marching bands, and performing music around the Mid-Michigan area since 2015. Zach earned his Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Saginaw Valley State University and looks forward to earning a master’s degree in conducting in the near future. Zach has been a full-time music teacher and band director since August 2020. He is currently a general music teacher and band director for Bay City Public Schools, working with students of all levels from elementary to high school.
 Zach lives in the Bay City area with his wife Ashley, their two cats, and their young corgi.
